Virginia Branch $1,000 Scholarship Award, 2012

The Virginia Branch of the Huguenot Society of the Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia announces the annual scholarship award for an essay on a topic related to the Huguenots. The essay should be focused on a relatively limited idea and any research should be documented with notes and bibliography.

Competition is open to high school juniors through college juniors who are or will be accepted to an accredited college. They must be residents of Virginia or children of Virginia Branch members. Some preference may be given to relatives of members.

Essays must be typed, double-spaced, and contain at least 1,000 words. Footnotes and a bibliography should be included. On computers, 12 pt. Times is preferred, and enclosing a disk or e-mail attachment in addition to the hard copy is helpful. Two copies of the essay shall be submitted to the Chairperson, not later than August 31, 2012.
